“Intersluggar”

Illustrated Print – Commission. 2024

I was approached to create an illustrated print that encapsulated a long-running inside joke between two sisters; spawned by the 2014 blockbuster “Interstellar” and a never-ending slug problem at their apartment.

After curating a list of key family members, actors, and extra cameos (hello Harry Styles!) that needed to be included, I worked through a few re-iterations of the original movie release posters – eventually taking the rocket launch imagery, and substituting a singular slug for the spacecraft. I closely mimicked the original typography, and tweaked the cast and crew credits to incorporate further inside jokes and personal trivia. The illustration was digitally painted, using custom PS brushes and my trusty wacom tablet.

The resulting poster made for a unique project. Despite the wacky concept, “Intersluggar” acts as a showcase of my illustration skills, design mimicry, and general love for quirky, unique ideas that bring a genuine smile to a client.
