“Fancy a pickleback?”

A custom commission for a retro-mascot style print, depicting the clients’ favourite novelty shot (the infamous pickleback…a shot of whiskey swiftly followed by a chaser of pickle juice.) The characters were styled to mimic the clients – both the bottle and the pickle acting as caricatures of the couple. A more neutral colour scheme was requested to suit their interior design preferences, so the more traditional bold brights of similar retro illustrations were swapped for a neutral, scaled pallette evoking the earthy tones from the drink.
